It's not so much that we're afraid of change or so in love with the old ways, but it's that place in between that we fear . . . . It's like being between trapezes. It's Linus when his blanket is in the dryer. There's nothing to hold on to. -Marilyn Ferguson

Closets in front entryways have a habit of becoming a dumping ground for snow boots, winter and spring jackets, and a variety of items that people don't know otherwise what to do with. With some work, you can reclaim the space and make it functional again.

This closet provided storage on a pole... and the floor. I helped select a closet system that would best meet their needs, and once the installer was done, I helped come up with a sustainable system for storing not only clothes, but shoes and purses, and we even had some room left for a storage box for small accessories.

This office plus living area provided my client with a cozy get-away by the water. The only problem was that the file system wasn't a sustainable solution, and paperwork ended up within arm's reach. That lead to other things not being put away, like books, a camera, and so forth. We worked on a better filing system and way to organize paperwork and small items, and the cozy get-away regained the charm it had when the owner first moved in.
